Our Beginnings.

One evening, a father picked up a piece of paper that was covered with a scribbled combination of pictures and letters created by his 5-year-old son. He started to sound out the words…”One day, I went trick-or-treating,” it began. He was so delighted with the characters, the structure, and the tender twist at the end, he was inspired. The rest is history; Maroma Books, was born.

This father, Alberto Fernandez, Sr., saw the book as the start of something big:

Finding new ways and audiences to appreciate talented young Mexican authors
and artists.

Improving education, (more than half of Maroma’s profits will go towards improving
education in some of Mexico’s most impoverished areas).

Enhance multi-cultural & multi-lingual understanding, (each of the books will be
     available at maromabooks.com in various languages in the form of BookPocklets;
     easy and free to print-out mini versions of the book for children to pique their
     interest in other languages and cultures, and begin to learn—based on a story and
     pictures they already know and love from their original Maroma book.
